Dylan Rushbrook
Synergy Tourism owner Dylan Rushbrook was born and raised in the South Island of New Zealand, growing up in a small Otago farming community before he and his grandmother moved to Dunedin where he was educated at Otago Boys’ High School and the University of Otago.
His career in tourism began as a kitchenhand at Cobb n Co in Dunedin, and from there he enjoyed many varied roles in restaurant and hotel management.
Dylan left operational management behind in 2010 and moved to Auckland to embark on a career in sales and marketing, initially focused on international wholesale, before expanding into other market segments.
Throughout his career Dylan has been involved in various governance roles, and is currently on the board of directors of the Tourism Export Council of New Zealand and the inaugural Tourism Central Otago Advisory Board.
Dylan has been selective of the brands he has worked for, and has a proud history with some of New Zealand’s best known tourism brands, including SKYCITY Entertainment Group and Heritage & CityLife Hotels. Throw in a secondment to Tourism New Zealand and various advisory roles to training establishments and local government, he has a wide range of experience your business can call on at any time.
Passionate about New Zealand and the New Zealand tourism industry, Dylan has long highlighted the need for the tourism industry to promote itself as a professional career. He continues to work with Tourism Industry Aotearoa and Young Tourism Export Council of New Zealand to highlight the opportunities available to younger generations. Dylan is also Managing Director of Tourism Talent, a company designed to connect tourism businesses to outstanding talent.
